catering
at
catering we know a successful event requires a fusion of many ingredients.
First of all, we take a generous portion of communication; sitting down with each client
to listen to their individual needs and budget requirements. We then make our recommendations
and advise the most appropriate venue for each function. Then we add our passion for serving
delicious food; from market, to kitchen, to plate, to table.
is synonymous with skill
in transforming quality seasonal produce into modern innovative cuisine.
This is perfectly complemented by our table settings, and consistently smooth, efficient service.

Worldwide movement
"This is an invitation to help build a movement - to take one day and use it to stop
the climate crisis."
There are groups of people from around the planet - young and old, scientists and writers and activists - who
have one thing in common. The most important number on earth is 350. And we know how to use that
number to finally get global action on the worst crisis humans have ever faced.
350 Blue Mountains Mandala
On 24th October 2009, International Day of Climate Action, more than 90 countries around the world will participate, with over 1000 events celebrating 350 worldwide. They include fun and quirky ideas for spreading the word into the community, using stickers, stencil templates, posters and more. We are inviting you to be part of this unique demonstration of our alignment with the global movement to raise awareness of the need to care for our planet.
Our event will create a mandala on an open space at the Western Sydney Institute of TAFE, Wentworth Falls campus made of people and garden displays which will be photographed and posted on the 350.org web site. Also present will be a range of media to cover and report this occasion.
For more information on why 350 is such an important number, go to www.350.org.
Outreach initiative
Sustainable Gardening in Schools Project 2009
The Outreach project consists of volunteers visiting schools across the Blue Mountains. The schools participate in the 'Sustainability Gardening in Schools Project 2009' by engaging the students and teachers in developing sustainable kitchen gardens in boxes. The curriculum is divided into:
- Gardening sustainability which covers the development of an on site kitchen garden plot per school and also covers the establishing of individual planter boxes for students. Additional workshops for teacher and parent training to maintain the garden are also to be organised.
Textbook: "Outdoor Classrooms, a handbook for school gardens." Carolyn Nuttall, Janet Millington.
- Social sustainability curriculum includes creating a presentation project of the school's gardening and sustainability progress throughout the program to be exhibited at the Footbeat Festival. A beautiful mandala consisting of all the planter boxes to showcase the joint efforts of Blue Mountains School students will be featured as part of the Footbeat Festival and the 350 celebration.
Hypothetical
On Sunday 25th October, a panel of distinguished guest speakers and others will take up the challenge of a hypothetical subject and explore what the consequences of it mean for themselves and the audience.
The Hypothetical will be led by Paul Payten. After forty years across diverse industry sectors, Paul has gathered a wide range of attributes and experience, through hard work and contemplation. In his many roles in Sales, Marketing, Operations and Services, he has focussed on effectively relating to others while doing the job in hand. Paul's main aim used to be maintenance and efficiency in all spheres of life. This has now led him naturally to his vision of a sustainable world. He has gained valuable knowledge and skills through personal development, education and training. These support him as a facilitator, multiplier and educator in communication, relationship building, process and active research in the workplace and community. Co-author of 'Your Eco handbook', business owner and Associate of EcoSTEPS - Sustainability Partners, a national consultancy.
The panel will include Prof. Stuart Hill, Dr. Mark Diesendorf, Dr. James Arvanitakis, Pauline Walker, as well as professionals and others so as to offer as diverse a range of perspectives as practical. Several of the panel have recent or current publications which will be on sale at the event.
